Throwback Thursday: Rockets' 15-0 start to 1993-94

While the Golden State Warriors are basking in the glory of their unprecedented 16-0 start to the season – the best in NBA history – Throwback Thursday relives the Houston Rockets’ record-equalling 15-0 start to their 1993-94 campaign.

After being bounced out of the second-round of the previous year’s playoffs by the Supersonics in a seven-game epic, the Rockets, inspired by eventual MVP Hakeem Olajuwon, won their first 15 games to equal the mark set by the 1948-49 Washington Capitols.

Robert Horry, Sam Cassell, Kenny Smith, Vernon Maxwell and Otis Thorpe were among the Rockets’ other stars as they powered on to claim the franchise’s first ever championship that season, before backing it up with another in the 1995 Finals.
