This year’s NBA season will be more colourful than ever with the return of sideline reporter Craig Sager. Sager has been a reporter and a remarkable presence for over 40 years in and around the NBA arenas, and is known for his fancy and colorful suits.
Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with leukemia in March 2014, forcing him to step down from his duties to focus on a fierce battle in overcoming the illness. Sager resumed his work in March this year, but the cancer returned. He continued the treatment, and was recently cleared to get back to work. In his absence, his son, Craig Jr, took over his duties.
During his time away for the game, Sager received a lot of support from within the NBA family – a testament to his popularity as a person and a reporter. But rest assured, Craig will be back around the sidelines on opening night this season, healthy and rocking one of his trademark extravagant suits.
