The NBA pre-season is in full swing already, and D’Angelo Russell has put that time to good use. Over the weekend, the Lakers and Nuggets squared off twice, and D’Angelo Russell turned on the jets.
D’Angelo Russell’s total against Denver this weekend:
54 points (20-of-33), 8 3-pointers, 8 assists, 4 steals in 56 minutes

The second-year star threw in 54 points in two games, and terrorized Emmanuel Mudiay throughout both nights. His 33 points Sunday night were the most of the pre-season, and he did most of it from outside.
It’s steady improvement for Russell, who is seen as the focus for the rebuilding Lakers. If this is the D’Angelo we can expect for this season, the new-look Lakers may make some noise after all.
And while he may be the new talk of the town, that’s not to say he isn’t still having fun.
D’Angelo Russell is still getting treated like a rookie… 👉🖐😂 https://t.co/ett69CcZoT
