MVP Steph Curry starts the season on fire

Golden State Warriors’ players received their championship rings before the start of the first game off the season, but no jitters for last year’s MVP Stephen Curry when he stepped on the floor.

Curry scored 24 points, including four three-pointers, during the first quarter on 9-of-13 shooting. He finished the game with 40 points, becoming the first reigning MVP to score 40 points in a season opener in NBA history.

The Warriors easily took measure of the up-and-coming New Orleans Pelicans, defeating them 111-95 – and letting the league know that they are unquestionably the team to beat this season.
