Metta out for 6-Weeks

The Los Angeles Lakers terrible season has taken another hit as scans reveal that Metta World Peace has a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee.

World Peace will undergo surgery and is out indefinitely; the Lakers medical staff are estimating a six-week stint on the sidelines.

The small forward suffered the injury before halftime in Tuesday 109-103 loss to the Warriors, and did not play in the 3rd or 4th quarters.

With just 11 games left until the playoffs start, Utah and Dallas are just 1 game behind the Lakers in 9th and 10th place. With Dirk finally hitting his straps for the first time since winning his Championship, the next few games for the Lakers are vital.

Kobe and the team will complete their three-game road trip with visits to the Timberwolves (Thursday 28/3/2013 11:00am AEST) and the Bucks (Friday 28/3/2013 11:00am AEST).

Bryant will likely be moved to small forward and Jodie Meeks should come into the starting line-up at shooting guard.
