LeBron James looks determined to hit the ground running in the 2016-17 NBA season, producing a blistering performance against the Washington Wizards at Ohio State University less than a week before the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship defence kicks off.

It looked like being more than your average preseason clash from the outset, with LeBron recreating his now-famous chase-down block from Game 7 of last season’s Finals inside the first 60 seconds.

Although the Wizards got up 96-91 – with the Cavs giving 12 bench players significant time – ‘King James’ was the star of the show, scoring 18 points in 26 minutes of game-time on 8-for-13 shooting, and producing 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals to go with his block.

His highlight reel also featured a couple of fallaway jumpers, an alley-oop assist, a fast-break lay-up and a bombastic dunk, sounding a warning to the would-be contenders for the Cavs’ NBA crown.
