The saga we all followed throughout the week on Derrick Rose finally got some clarity today, as the New York Knicks belatedly announced their punishment for the star guard.

The punishment is pretty extreme, with Rose facing a $200,000 fine.

It comes on the heels of Rose abandoning the team on Monday without alerting team officials. The loss of Rose was immediately a concern, with no one within the organization able to provide a reason for his absence.

The fine for Rose is the largest for a player that didn’t miss playing time – and it could deepen the divide between the front office and their newly-acquired star player.
