Klay Thompson's 37-point record quarter

When my mate Jono, who lives in San Francisco, messaged me saying “Did you see that?! Holy fuck” – I didn’t think my already epic roof top drinks looking out over the beach in Bondi could get any better: enter Klay Thompson.

I stopped what I was doing immediately, sat down by myself and watched this five times over – I was and am so jealous of Jono, getting to witness that in real time, it’s one of those “I know where I was” moments in sport. I was also slightly angry at myself for not watching any NBA on the day.

Klay was literally unstoppable, dropping 52 points on the night, including 37 points in the third quarter! Thompson was a perfect 13-of-13 from the floor in the third, including 9-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Klay finished the game with 52 points (16-of-25 FG, 11-of-15 3FG), 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks. His 9 threes in the third is the most for a single quarter in NBA history, and the 11 from down town in the game was just one shy of the NBA record held by Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall.

According to Sport VU Klay scored all his points on just 57 total touches. – that is insane!

Steph Curry found is so unbelievable that he had to laugh.
