The Memphis Grizzlies are through to the second round of the NBA finals after beating the Portland Trailblazers 99-93 in game 5, winning the series 4-1. In another grind-out game where both teams held each other under 42% shooting, the Grizzlies controlled the boards, out-rebounding the Blazers 56-38.
Marc Gasol posted a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds, and Courtney Lee had an efficient night, shooting 8-of-12 for 20 points. For Portland, CJ McCollum had a career night, scoring 33 points, but it turned out to be insufficient for the Blazers. The Grizzlies took control halfway the fourth quarter and held on to finish off the series and advance to the second round, where they will meet the hottest team in the League in the Golden State Warriors.
