It’s the sports world, and it’s going increasingly corporate.

But this one doesn’t sound all bad. The NBA announced today that Gatorade has signed an exclusive deal with the NBA Developmental League, or D-League.

And one of the perks of the new agreement: a name change.

The D-League has long been criticized based on its name, with former players and analysts saying the name implies bad basketball and carries a negative connotation.

No worries anymore: the new league will go by the Gatorade League. Or G-League for short. So… compromise? This is going to take some getting used to.
