Durant ruled out for the season

Kevin Durant won’t be back on the court for the Thunder this season. After breaking his foot (Jones fracture) during preseason, Durant returned two months later and played 27 games for the Oklahoma (25.1 ppg, 51.0 FG%), until mid-February, when he underwent a small procedure to help alleviate pain and discomfort in his surgically repaired foot. The procedure did not result successful and Durant was temporarily removed from basketball activities.

He had planned to make his return just before the start of the play-offs, but Friday’s news put an end to Durant’s envisioned comeback. He will need another foot procedure, as the Jones fracture did not heal accordingly, and will be out for four to six months.
