Leading the series 3-2, the Cavaliers weathered an early Bulls run but held their breath when Kyrie Irving left the game with another injury early in the second quarter with the score tied at 35-35.
Coach Blatt inserted Matthew Dellavedova into the line-up and the Aussie did not disappoint. The Cavaliers went on a 20-2 run of their own as they blew out the Bulls on their home floor 94-73 to advance to the conference finals.
With LeBron James struggling, they turned to back-up point guard Dellavedova to do the heavy lifting. He made three huge jumpers from behind the arc and lead his team in scoring with 19 points (7-of-11). His defense on Derrick Rose was outstanding as he out-dueled and outscored the former MVP the entire game.
