Davis sinks Thunder as Westbrook scores 48

While Russell Westbrook had a career-high in points (48 points) for the second consecutive game, Anthony Davis drained his first three-pointer of the season to sink Oklahoma at the death.

Davis and Westbrook produced an incredible duel that saw the pair combine for 89 points, 19 rebounds and 14 assists.

Anthony Davis: 41 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks – 15-2 3FGs, 10-10 FTs

Russell Westbrook: 48 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals – 15-28 FGs, 15-15 FTs

The two went back and forward until the dying moments.

Russell tied it at 113 all with 1.2 seconds left thanks to three clinical free throws – everyone grabbed a fresh beverage and was preparing for overtime.

Onlookers weren’t luckily enough for OT, but they were fortunate enough to witness something much better; a defining moment for the NBA’s most exciting prospect.

The game was very significant for both sides as they sit just outside the top eight in a brutal Western Conference.

The Pelicans sit ninth with a record of 27-23, while Oklahoma are just below them on 25-25.
