The West is even more of a cakewalk now for the Warriors, with the Clippers announcing that Chris Paul will officially be sidelined for that injury in his thumb.

Believed to have been hurt last week, Paul’s shot has suffered, and he and the team are opting for surgery.

The surgery is the optimistic route, with CP3’s return scheduled before the start of the postseason. And while there was little concern about missing the playoffs, the loss of Paul will certainly put a dent in the Clippers’ hopes for a higher seed.

The setback Paul compounds injuries to Blake Griffin and the bench, and is another in a long list of injury problems to bother the team in the last few seasons.
