In just the weirdest week for the NBA, things got weirder late last night as reports began to surface on the trade front.

And we’re talking blockbuster: the Knicks offered Carmelo to the Cavs in a straight swap for Kevin Love.

And with the NBA abuzz over the news and prospects of a deal, the Cavs quickly nixed that idea by rejecting the offer.

The rumors of the trade made a quick move around the NBA, with Anthony saying after the Knicks game last night that he was sure LeBron “wants us to play together, just maybe not now.”
Sources have told me Cavs have no interest in Melo and wouldn’t trade Love for him. The Melo to CLE thing ain’t happening.

And that comment indicates that Melo would have waived his no trade clause, but the Cavs are adamant they have “no interest” in dealing for Anthony. Oh, but only if…
