BOOMERS, TEAM USA CONTINUE TO DOMINATE IN RIO

The United States kept rolling on Tuesday, overcoming a slow start against Venezuela to power to their second win in Rio.  The US was led by Kevin Durant, and despite a tie in the first quarter they gold medal favourites busted the game wide open in the second frame, eventually winning 113-69. Team USA await Australia – who are projected to be their greatest threat so far of the tournament – on Wednesday (AEST).

The Aussies kept their impressive momentum going, staying undefeated with a 95-80 win over Serbia.  Matthew Dellavedova starred for the Boomers with 23 points and 13 assists, and Patty Mills top-scored with 26 points.  The Boomers are guard dominated, and have positioned themselves as the favorite to provide the US with the biggest scare.
