RANGERS v BLUE JAYS: BLOOD ON THE DIAMOND

There’s nothing like a good, old-fashioned baseball donnybrook – and the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays produced one of the best of recent years yesterday.

After a dirty slide by Blue Jays hitter Jose Bautista into second, Rangers firebrand Rougned Odor took matters into his own hands…namely, by landing a brutal right cross to Bautista’s face.

Predictably, both benches cleared for a wild all-in melee.

The actual game became something of a sidelight after the excitement of the base-brawl, but it was the Rangers who claimed the win at Arlington’s Globe Life Park, edging out the visiting Blue Jays 7-6.
